President Ahmed Islan Madobe of Jubbaland and President Said Abdullahi Deni of Puntland are on their way to Mogadishu for a meeting with President Mohamed Farmaajo.
The focus of the meeting between the three leaders is Somalia’s upcoming elections.
In late August, Farmaajo and leaders from other Federal Member States (FMS) met in Dhusamareb and agreed on the electoral model to be used in the country’s elections later this year.
However, both Deni and Madobe skipped the Dhusamareb III talks.
Last week, they met in Garowe and discussed the Dhusamareb III agreement, which they called non-inclusive and a “personal opinion” of the leaders who took part in it.
According to multiple sources, Madobe left for Mogadishu on Monday, August 31 while Deni is scheduled to arrive in the nation’s capital on Tuesday, September 1.
