President Ahmed Islam Madobe has arrived in Dhusamareb for the elections conference between Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) and Federal Member States (FMS).
Madobe’s arrival is a huge boost to the discussions since he has been one of the most prominent critics of the preparations for the upcoming elections.
Moreover, his Jubbaland state (together with Puntland) was omitted from the list of regions where elections are to take place.
President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo arrived in the Galmudug State on Monday.
Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble also arrived on the first day of the conference.
All the regional state leaders and the Governor of Banaadir Region are expected at the fresh round of talks.
Opposition politicians have asked organizers to include them and other stakeholders in the list of participants.
