President Ahmed Islam Madobe of Jubbaland held a closed-door meeting with the Deputy Speaker of the Lower House on Sunday.
Madobe’s meeting with Abdiwali Mudey, the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, took place ahead of his expected appearance at the Upper House.
The Lower House and Upper House have been at loggerheads over the electoral law.
Last week, Puntland’s President Said Abdullahi Deni met with the leadership of the Upper House and commended them for supporting the Federal Member States (FMS).
Details of the issues discussed during the meeting between Madobe and Mudey are yet to be released.
However, insiders expect them to have talked on the differences between the Lower House and Senate, the upcoming polls, and the ongoing Mogadishu talks on elections.
