President Ahmed Islam Madobe of Jubbaland held a meeting with representatives from the United Nations and African Union to discuss his relationship with Mogadishu.
Madobe has not been in the good books of President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo since winning elections to be Jubbaland’s president.
The meeting took place a few days to the start of the long-awaited elections in Somalia.
Since winning elections, Madobe has accused Farmaajo’s administration of frustrating and undermining him.
His meeting with the UN and AU representatives follows the one he held with Farmaajo in Mogadishu last month.
The UN and AU representatives urged him to drop some of the hard stance he has taken against Farmaajo and the federal government.
