President Ahmed Islam Madobe of Jubbaland held a meeting with the newly appointed United Kingdom Ambassador to Somalia.
Madobe’s meeting with Ambassador Kate Foster took place on March 11.
The Jubbaland leader discussed several issues with Ambassador Foster, who recently took over from Ben Fender as UK’s top diplomat in the East African nation.
During their meeting, they delved into discussions on the months-long electoral impasse that threatens the stability and peace of Somalia.
Madobe and Foster also talked about the importance of the upcoming conference between Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) and Federal Member States (FMS).
President Madobe appealed for humanitarian assistance from the UK government.
He explained to Foster the extent of the humanitarian crisis from the ongoing drought in Gedo region.
