Maj. Gen. Rageh Congratulates SNA as it Celebrates 65th Anniversary

Major General Odowaa Yusuf Rageh, the Commander of the Somali National Army (SNA), recently congratulated the SNA on its 65th anniversary. This milestone commemorates the founding of Somalia’s national armed forces in 1960, marking 65 years of service and dedication to the nation’s sovereignty and security.

Maj. Gen. Rageh, born on April 14, 1987, in Mahaday, Middle Shabelle, Somalia, has had a distinguished military career. He joined the Somali Army in 2007 and has held various significant positions, including Commander-in-Chief of the Somali National Army since November 2024. His leadership has been pivotal in the ongoing efforts to strengthen Somalia’s security sector, including collaborations with international partners like the European Union Training Mission in Somalia (EUTM-S).

The 65th anniversary of the SNA serves as a testament to the resilience and commitment of Somalia’s armed forces in maintaining peace and stability within the country.
