A man who raped and killed a woman in Buroa was sentenced to death by a court in Togder on Sunday, November 22.
Sakaria Abdi Yusuf received the death penalty after he was found guilty of raping and killing Ugbad Ali.
The woman was the mother of three children.
She was killed last month in an incident that attracted the attention of Somaliland’s President Muse Bihi Abdi too.
At the time, Bihi promised that his administration would carry out the court’s decision.
He made this vow after local residents took to the streets to protest the gruesome rape and murder of the mother of three.
