Ahlu Sunna militants have fled Guri-El town in the regional state of Galmudug following increased onslaught from the Somali National Army (SNA).
Militants from the Ahul Sunna Waljama’a (ASWJ) group have been in intense clashes with SNA and regional forces from October 23.
Thus far, the clashes have caused the deaths of over 100 people and injured countless others.
Credible sources informed the media that ASWJ militants fled the region on Wednesday.
Apparently, they left the town in the morning.
The same sources intimate that the militants have made their way to Godwil village, which is to the north of Guri-El.
They fled after SNA joined hands with regional forces to fight the militants who were at one time heavily against Al-Shabaab.
