Minister of Planning Engages with UNFPA Representative

MOGADISHU — The Minister of Planning, Investment and Economic Development for the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E. Mahmoud Abdirahman Sheikh Farah (Beenebeene), held a constructive discussion today with the UNFPA Representative in Somalia, Dr. Mary Otieno.

The dialogue centered on boosting collaborative efforts between the Ministry and the UN agency, specifically concerning development planning, project coordination, and the oversight of multiple initiatives.

Aligning Strategic Plans

Both parties explored methods to guarantee that all current and future initiatives are consistent with Somalia’s National Transformation Plan (NTP) and the UNFPA Country Programme Document. The discussion placed significant focus on ensuring transparency, accountability, and sustainable impact in development projects.

Minister Beenebeene and Dr. Otieno reaffirmed their mutual pledge to intensify cooperation. The continued partnership aims to accelerate the realization of combined development objectives, enhance social outcomes, and improve the provision of fundamental services nationwide.
