Somalia’s Ministry of Health conducted a training for Community Health Workers (CHWs) in Mogadishu on Wednesday.
The health ministry announced that the Training of Trainers (ToTs) is a critical step in ensuring that they communicate with the public well.
Mostly, the training was designed to bring the CHWs up to speed in the area of risk communication in these COVID-19 times.
Additionally, the workers were also equipped with skills on ways of engaging with their respective communities on COVID-19.
All the CHWs trained in yesterday’s session are from three districts in Mogadishu.
UNICEF Somalia partnered with the health ministry to conduct the training and ensure that CHWs continue playing a crucial role in curbing the spread of COVID-19 in the country.
