Mogadishu elders have concluded their Las Anod visit.
The Mogadishu elders met with their Las Anod counterparts in the conflict-laden city to discuss peaceful solutions to the 3-month-old clashes.
Las Anod clashes have claimed tens of lives.
Thousands of people have become internally displaced persons (IDPs).
Elders from Las Anod accepted the request for a ceasefire from their Mogadishu colleagues.
“We have agreed to pursue peace and save the blood of our Muslim brothers and sisters from being shed any further,” Sultan Mustafa Aw Saed said on behalf of his colleagues.
The Mogadishu elders left Las Anod on Tuesday and made their way to Garowe.
