Mogadishu Hosts World Food Day Fete

The Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation in Mogadishu hosted an event on Wednesday to commemorate World Food Day.

The event attracted a diverse group of participants, including government officials, farmers’ associations, experts, and representatives from international non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and United Nations agencies.

Discussions at the event centered around key issues such as food security, sustainable agricultural practices, and the need for coordinated efforts to combat hunger in Somalia.

This annual event highlights the country’s ongoing challenges in addressing food insecurity, especially given its vulnerability to climate change and recurring droughts.
