Mayor Omar Muhamoud Finnish of Mogadishu, who also serves as the Governor of Benadir Region, has appointed a new District Commissioner for Shibis.
A Tuesday dispatch from the Office of the Mayor indicates that Finnish appointed Ali Ahmed Abdulle as the new District Commissioner of Shibis.
Abdulle takes over from Abdirahman Sayid.
Prior to his new appointment, Abdulle worked as a journalist at Radio Shabelle for several years.
In April, Sayid was dismissed from his position after he was accused of gross misconduct in the course of his work.
At the time, Mayor Finnish called Sayid’s actions “corrupt.” Finnish reiterated his desire to maintain utmost integrity within his administration.
