Omar Filish, the Mayor of Mogadishu, has congratulated the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) for signing the resolution allocating Banaadir Regional Administration (BRA) more parliamentary.
Mayor Filish, who also doubles as the Governor of Banaadir Region, welcomed the decision by the House of Representatives to allocate the region more seats.
On June 27, 2020, the House of Representatives passed a motion allocating Banaadir Region 13 seats in the Upper House.
On January 27, Farmaajo finally signed the resolution.
Nevertheless, there are doubts whether the resolution can become law without the approval of the Upper House.
