President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud held discussions with several leaders at Villa Somalia before departing for the inauguration.
Mohamud was in the company of the immediate former President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo at the presidential palace in Mogadishu on Thursday.
They met with Kenya’s President Uhuru Kenyatta, Ethiopia’s Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali, and Djibouti’s President Ismail Omar Guelleh.
Kenyatta, Abiy, and Guelleh are in Mogadishu for President Mohamud’s inauguration.
Mohamud won the May 15 presidential elections in Mogadishu.
Ex-President Farmaajo has already handed over power to Mohamud.
