The mother of a National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) officer who was recently murdered has called upon President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo to stop politicizing the issue.
Qali Mohamud Guhad, the mother of the late Ikran Tahlil, issued the call on September 20.
She was speaking at a rally organized to rally behind Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble who has collided with Farmaajo over Ikran’s death.
“I urge President Farmaajo to fear God and stop politicizing my daughter’s murder,” Qali said.
She praised Prime Minister Roble for working hard to pursue justice for her family.
At the time of her disappearance in June 2021 and subsequent death, Ikran had been working with NISA as an intel officer.
Her murder has sparked the latest political crisis in Somalia.
Ikran’s death forced Prime Minister Roble to sack Fahad Yasin from his position as the NISA Director. Yasin is one of Farmaajo’s most loyal allies.
