Unified National Secondary School Exams kicked off in Bahdo a day after deadly clashes broke out in the town.
Bahdo, a town in the regional state of Galmudug, was the scene of deadly clashes between regional forces and Al-Shabaab.
Residents and government soldiers joined forces to repulse Al-Shabaab militants who had planned to attack the town.
Mohamed Hashi Dore, the Galmudug Minister of Education, witnessed the commencement of the exams in Bahdo.
