New ATMIS Head Expresses Readiness to Work with Other Stakeholders

The new head of the African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS) has expressed readiness to work closely with other stakeholders.

Souef Mohamed El-Amine issued this statement on Monday, November 21.

El-Amine is the new Special Representative of the Chairperson of the Commission (SRCC) to Somalia and the Head of ATMIS.

Moussa Faki Mahamat, the AU Chairperson, appointed him SRCC on September 4.

El-Amine said that he remains eager to start working with the many components of the ATMIS mission.

Therefore, he has invited all stakeholders to work with his office to fulfill the mandate of ATMIS.

He reminded them all that ATMIS is in Somalia to improve the political, security, and stability of the East African nation.
