The new Director-General at the Ministry of Finance has assumed office.
Mohamed Hussein Mu’adin took over from his predecessor Mohamed Abdi Gurhan as the finance ministry’s Director-General.
Gurhan handed over the office to Mu’adin in a brief handing-over ceremony on Saturday.
Dr. Saad Ali Shire, the Minister of Finance, presided over the handing-over ceremony at the ministry’s headquarters in Hargeisa.
Various government officials such as Rooda Jama Elmi, the Deputy Minister of Finance, and Eng. Ali Abdilahi Dahir, the Governor of the Central Bank of Somaliland were at the ceremony too.
Gurhan commended the ministry personnel for the steadfast cooperation they accorded him in the last four years.
Mu’adin promised to use his 41 years of public service to help the ministry move forward.
