Somali President Urges Religious Scholars to Form Council

President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud of Somalia has encouraged religious scholars in the country to form their council.

The President issued this call on Monday while addressing a meeting of Somali Religious Scholars in Mogadishu.

The three-day meeting takes place in the nation’s capital.

He encouraged members of the council to discuss plans for the formation of the council.

Additionally, President Mohamud urged the scholars to use the council to formulate guidelines and decisions relating to the religion.
