The new Italian Ambassador to Somalia was at the headquarters of the African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS) for a meeting with Souef Mohamed El-Amine.
Amb. Pier Mario Dacco Coppi met with ATMIS chief El-Amine on Monday at the ATMIS Mission head offices in Mogadishu.
Their discussions touched on several issues.
According to sources, top on their list was a discussion on the security and prevailing political landscape in Somalia.
The ongoing drawdown of ATMIS troops featured prominently in their discussions too.
The Ambassador reminded the ATMIS chief of Italy’s dedication to the stability and growth of the East African nation.
Amb. Coppi assured El-Amine that Italy would not stop supporting Somalia’s vulnerable populations through Quick Impact Projects (QIPs).
