Mahad Salad, the new Director-General of the National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA), has made his first appointment since taking office.
Salad appointed Muhyadin Warbac Shadoor the new Benadir Regional Commander.
Consequently, all NISA agents in the Benadir region are to be answerable to Shadoor with immediate effect.
The NISA Director-General appointed Shadoor the Benadir Regional Commander on Monday, May 30.
Shadoor’s appointment indicates that NISA is about to undergo a complete overhaul.
Nevertheless, this is not the first time that Shadoor is appointed to head NISA. A few months ago, General Bashir Goobe had appointed Shadoor to head NISA.
However, a rift between Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble and the then President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo meant that Shadoor never stepped into office.
Instead, Yasin Farey took over.
