The new cabinet ministers appointed on August 2 have been encouraged to prioritize security and drought relief.
President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud addressed the ministers when he met them on Tuesday night.
He spoke to them a few hours after Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre announced the formation of his new government.
The cabinet is a blend of old and new faces.
President Mohamud commended the Prime Minister for appointing a “quality government” that is capable of meeting the expectations of all Somalis in the country.
