New UNHCR Representative to Somalia Submits Credentials to Foreign Affairs Ministry

Magatte Guisse, the new representative of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Somalia handed over his credentials to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Guisse submitted his credentials to Hersi Haji Olosow, the Director General in the foreign affairs ministry on Friday, August 13.

During the ceremony, Olosow and Guisse discussed several issues revolving around migrants and refugees.

They also discussed the plans that UNHCR has organized for Somalia.

Olosow commended UNHCR for the support the organization has accorded Somalia, especially in assisting displaced people from different parts of the country.

On his part, Guisse vowed to continue strengthening UNHCR’s role in the East African nation.
