A local non-governmental organization (NGO) has launched free cervical cancer screening in Mogadishu.

Cervical Cancer Elimination (CCE) in Somalia launches the country’s first-ever free screening for cervical cancer.

Dr. Maimuna Gelle, the Director of CCE in Somalia, delivered this incredible news on Monday, September 19.

Dr. Gelle specializes in women’s health.

Cervical cancer affects the reproductive system in women.

Through free screening, Dr. Gelle and her team hope that they would be able to detect this form of cancer early enough.
