The National Identification and Registration Authority (NIRA) and the NIS Foundation have announced their collaboration to accelerate the implementation of a new National ID system in Somalia.
NIRA Director-General Abdiwali Abdulle revealed this when he hosted Gabow Duale, the Head of NIS Foundation at his office on Mogadishu on Thursday.
This partnership aims to improve ID services across the country, ensuring that more citizens, especially those who are currently unregistered, can obtain identification.
The collaboration will focus on addressing existing challenges and enhancing the efficiency and accessibility of the national ID system to support national development and governance efforts.
