The Director of the National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) is expected in Gedo for a meeting with a fugitive Jubbaland minister.
Reports from Mogadishu indicate that Fahad Yasin is scheduled to travel to Jubbaland in the next few hours for a meeting with Abdirashid Janaan.
Yasin is one of the outgoing President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo’s closest allies.
For years, Janaan has been one of the fiercest critics of Farmaajo’s rule as the President of the Federal Republic of Somalia.
Yasin is reportedly scheduled to meet with Janaan on March 24 in Beled Hawo, a town in Gedo region.
Gedo region has been the scene of numerous deadly fights between troops loyal to Janaan and those working for the government.
