National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) has warned Somali National Army (SNA) officers over their involvement in politics.
NISA issued a statement on the soldiers’ involvement in politics on December 30.
The spy agency’s statement follows the recent days’ reports of soldiers taking sides.
Some soldiers have pledged allegiance to President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo while others are solidly behind Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble.
In Thursday’s statement, NISA extended gratitude to the role that the Armed Forces have played in securing the nation.
