No casualties were reported from the UN cargo plane that crashed earlier today in Somalia. According to reports, the plane crashed in an airport in Beledweyne town.
The incident occurred when one of the plane’s wings hit gravel while landing. That act forced it away from the runway, which it overshot significantly.
Reports indicate that the plane was transporting cargo to the Djiboutian contingent of the African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM).
Fortunately, the plane’s crew of three members was rescued just before it burst into flames.
