Norway and IFAD to Help Somalia Overcome Climate Change Disasters

Norway and the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) will help Somalia to overcome climate change disasters.

Norway and IFAD made the promise to Somalia when Khadija Mohamed Al-Makhzoumi, Anne Beathe Tvinnereim, Sabrina Dhowre Elba, and Dina Saleh met on November 13.

Al-Makhzoumi is Somalia’s federal Minister of Environment and Climate Change.

Tvinnereim is the Norwegian Minister of International Development.

Elba is IFAD’s Goodwill Ambassador while Saleh is the organization’s Regional Director for the Near East, North Africa, and Europe.

During their Sunday meeting, they agreed to implement projects and programs for assisting Somalia to overcome the challenges of climate disaster.
