The government of Norway has sent a message of congratulations to Somalia during the East African nation’s 60th Independence Anniversary.
Norway, through Prime Minister Erna Solberg, spoke with Somalia’s President Mohamed Farmaajo on phone today.
During the call, PM Solberg and President Farmaajo also discussed various issues of mutual interest to their two respective nations.
Some of the issues discussed include the upcoming parliamentary and presidential elections scheduled to take place in Somalia in 2020 and 2021.
The two leaders also discussed strategic bilateral issues.
On his part, President Farmaajo expressed gratitude to Norway for remaining one of Somalia’s key partners as the country pursues an agenda of economic and institutional reforms.
