Haakon Svane, the Norwegian Ambassador to Somalia, visited a Somali minister for discussions on wide-ranging issues.
Ambassador Svane spent time with Sheikh Mukhtar Robow Ali, the Somali Minister of Endowments and Religious Affairs on December 1.
Svane visited the minister at the offices of the endowments and religious affairs ministry in Mogadishu.
Ambassador Svane was in the company of Heidi Johansen and Ole Lindman.
Johansen is the Special Envoy of the Norwegian Government for Somali Affairs. Lindman is a former Ambassador of Norway to Afghanistan.
They discussed enhanced cooperation between their respective governments.
Specifically, they agreed that Somalia needs increased support from Norway and other international partners in the fight against terrorism.
Robow briefed Ambassador Svane on Somalia’s commitment to eliminate Al-Shabaab terrorists from the country.
He thanked the people and government of Norway for the support offered to Somalia over the years in various sectors.
