The National Union of Somali Journalists (NUSOJ) has launched a national dialogue on legislating against Gender-Based Violence (GBV).
NUSOJ held an event on Saturday, September 10 to launch the dialogue.
It launched the dialogue in conjunction with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) Somalia office.
During the launch, NUSOJ stated that the advancement of fundamental human rights is essential to the creation of a safe Somali society for all.
The organization added that Somalia must now enact progressive laws to protect GBV victims.
