OCHA Asks for Assistance in Giving More Somali Children Access to Education

United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) has asked for assistance in giving more Somali children access to education.

In its report published on January 24, OCHA stated that only 33 percent of all Somali children in the country are currently enrolled in primary education.

OCHA believes this number is worsened by the fact that Somalia is riddled with conflicts and humanitarian crises.

Its Monday report shows that 3.3 million children, which includes 1.4 million girls, are unable to access education due to crisis.

OCHA spoke during World Education Day.

It called upon more people to join humanitarian partners in boosting access to education in 2022.
