One More Person Killed as Fresh Protests Rock Las Anod

One more person was killed in fresh protests that rocked Las Anod on Saturday.

Information reaching the media said that the fresh protests left at least one person dead as police officers targeted protestors with live ammunition.

Earlier, protestors had hurled stones at the Las Anod Central Police Station.

Protests kicked off in Las Anod earlier this week.

Local residents had taken to the streets to protest the lack of action by the Somaliland government against multiple assassinations.

The administration of the regional state of Puntland has accused Somaliland police of inflicting violence against residents of Las Anod.

Abdirahman Mohamed Abdillahi Irro, the leader of the opposition Wadani Party, also levied the same accusations against Somaliland authorities.
