One person was confirmed dead while four more were rescued when a blaze broke out in a Mogadishu house on Saturday night.
Eyewitnesses said the incident, which took place in Hiliwa District, occurred at around 12.30am. Firefighters who arrived at the scene took more than one hour to put the fire out.
Although investigation into the incident has commenced, the cause of the inferno is yet to be established.
Nevertheless, eyewitnesses believe that a short-circuit is responsible for the deadly blaze.
