Opposition Coalition Hits Out at Farmaajo While Hailing FMS Meeting

Forum for National Parties (FNP), which is a coalition of opposition parties in Somalia, has hit out at President Farmaajo for the “bad attitude” displayed by his administration.

FNP launched out a verbal attack against Farmaajo for postponing the meeting scheduled for July 5-8 between Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) and Federal Member States (FMS).

President Farmaajo’s office is yet to issue a statement explaining the reasons for not holding the much-anticipated meeting with regional leaders.

Nevertheless, FNP also took the opportunity to hail the meeting planned for July 9, 2020 between all the regional leaders in Dhusamareb.

All leaders of Puntland, Southwest, HirShabelle, and Jubbaland are scheduled to attend the meeting hosted by Galmudug’s President Ahmed Kariye Qoorqoor.

FNP’s leaders – Hassan Sheikh Mohamud and Sharif Sheikh Ahmed – said the meeting of regional leaders is essential for “promoting peace and stability” around the country.
