An opposition leader has called for the full defense of Somaliland’s integrity.
Engineer Faysal Ali Warabe, the Chairman of the Justice and Welfare (UCID) Party, spoke against the drums of war heard in Somaliland in the last few weeks.
Eng. Warabe, the leader of the oldest political party in Somaliland, called the G21 group out.
“G21 is bitter with Somaliland’s sovereignty and independence,” Eng. Warabe said.
Therefore, he called upon everyone in Somaliland to rally together to protect the nation’s sovereignty in the face of growing attacks from Somalia.
He spoke on Sunday at the UCID Party headquarters in Hargeisa.
“We are sorry for the people who died in the Las Anod clashes between Somaliland forces and the troops that invaded the city,” the UCID chairman added.
He blamed the Las Anod clashes on the regime of the immediate former President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo of Somalia.
Warabe added that ex-Prime Ministers Abdiweli Gas and Omar Abdirashid were also guilty of compromising Somaliland’s integrity.
“Farah Maalim, a Kenyan Member of Parliament (MP), has also joined forces with those hellbent on causing harm to Somaliland,” Warame asserted.
Maalim was elected the MP of Dadaab Constituency in Kenya’s 2022 general elections.
