Wadani Party, which is one of the biggest political parties in Somaliland, has commended the peace agreement that the government initiated in El Afweyn District.
Mohamed Farah, the opposition party’s secretary, hailed the peace accord while asking residents to pursue increased unity and security.
Furthermore, Farah asked the government to develop a clear plan for ensuring that sustainable peace exists in the region.
The secretary also advised security authorities in the region to take measures to avoid recurring inter-clan clashes, which have caused huge losses of life and property.
Farah said, “As Wadani Party, we will always be on the side of solidarity, peace, and unity in all regions of Somaliland.”
El Afweyn district, which is in Sanaag Province, has been the scene of lasting conflicts between different clans in the last ten years.
