Opposition Presidential Candidates Want to Attend the Dhusamareb Talks

Opposition presidential candidates want to be included in the list of participants expected at the Dhusamareb talks.

The Somali politicians wrote a letter dated February 1 asking to be represented at the talks that kick off from February 1-3.

They wrote the letter under the banner of the Council of Presidential Candidates’ Union (CPCU).

In their letter, the candidates stated that the meeting should be open to all stakeholders who have concerns with the implementation of the September 17, 2020 elections agreement.

According to the candidates, participants should come from Somaliland and the other northern regions.

Further, representatives from the civil society should also participate in the National Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) and Federal Member States (FMS) Conference.
