The outgoing commander of the African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS) has received praise for his contribution to the peace mission in Somalia.
Lt. Gen. Diomede Ndegeya, the outgoing ATMIS Force Commander, was hailed for the role he has played in ensuring that peace prevails in Somalia.
ATMIS leadership held a farewell ceremony in Mogadishu on November 3 in honor of the departing Lt. Gen. Ndegeya.
They overwhelmed him with praises for his astute leadership of the ATMIS team.
Lt. Gen. Ndegeya received the adulation with humility and expressed gratitude to everyone who had made his time in charge of the ATMIS force a success.
