More than 2.8 million people in Somalia received crucial food aid from the World Food Programme (WFP) and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in February.
USAID confirmed this during its latest briefing on its programs in the East African nation.
The updates show that USAID and WFP worked closely with Somalia’s international and domestic partners to deliver the food supplies to millions of Somalis.
Internally displaced persons (IDPs) and those in conflict-affected areas were among the recipients.
USAID and WFP extended the support to vulnerable groups such as children and pregnant women.
Somalis living with tuberculosis and HIV were among Somalis who enjoyed the food donations from the two global bodies.
