Ongoing Gu Rains in Somalia to Affect 700,000 People, Warns OCHA

The Gu rains that have started in several parts of Somalia are expected to affect more than 700,000 people in the country.

The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) announced this on Friday.

OCHA insisted that the people in the 22 Gu rains hotspot areas are at risk more than anyone else.

The rains, which will fall from April to June, have already forced humanitarian partners to develop response plans to reduce the likelihood of human suffering and loss of life.

Residents of 15 cholera hotspot districts were also warned to be extra careful.
