More than $2 million has been raised to repair a market that was recently reduced to ashes by a massive inferno in Somaliland.
The Somaliland government announced that it had raised $2.25 million as of October 7.
According to experts, Tog-Wajale Market suffered losses to the tune of $5.3 million on September 18 when a huge inferno razed through the shops.
The Somaliland government announced that it would contribute $600,000 towards its repair.
Local governments around the country are to contribute $600,000 too.
Private businesses such as Dahabshil and Telesom have contributed $300,000 and $150,000 respectively towards the same cause.
