The United States Embassy in Somalia has donated tons of food supplies to more than 2,000 households affected by floods in Somalia.
On Friday September 18, the Embassy confirmed that it had delivered the essential food supplies to the families in Lower Shabelle.
Further, the Embassy stated that the donation was carried out in conjunction with the World Food Programme in Somalia in a mission dubbed #CultivatingHope.
Tens of thousands of people in Lower Shabelle have been rendered homeless because of the raging floods in the region.
This year, the Horn of Africa region has experienced one of its worst floods in decades.
Thousands of families are now unable to access quality food because the floods have rendered roads impassable while drowning huge swathes of farmland.
