Over 6 Million Somalis to Face Serious Food Crisis by June

More than 6 million Somalis will face serious food crisis by June 2023.

The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) issued the latest report on food security in Somalia.

In the report issued on Tuesday, FAO stated that the food crisis in Somalia will worsen in the next few months.

It expects over 6.6 million people to be deep in the crisis in the next 2-3 months.

However, FAO offered a bit of a respite.

It indicated that several factors have combined to reduce the risk of famine.

These include multi-sectoral humanitarian assistance, improved rainfall, and declining food prices.

Nevertheless, it called for increased effort as Somalia is not out of the woods yet.
