More than 60 Al-Shabaab terrorists lost their lives in an operation carried out jointly by Somali National Army (SNA) and local militia in the Bay region.
The operation was on Thursday at El-Dhun Agow.
The operation represents the latest attempts by federal and regional forces in the Southwest state to fight Al-Shabaab militants.
A statement from the government added that the operation was a huge blow to the terrorists.
Lately, Al-Shabaab has increased the frequency of its attacks all over Somalia and other neighboring countries such as Kenya.
