More than 8 million Somalis need humanitarian assistance in 2023.
The Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), a United Nations agency, mentioned this in its latest report.
According to OCHA, the numbers are quite worrying.
In its report, OCHA indicated that the number of Somalis needing humanitarian assistance rose from 5.2 million in 2020 to 8.25 million in 2023.
It called for joint efforts from all stakeholders to break the cycle of chronic humanitarian crises in the East African nation.
