PM Barre Chairs Discussions on Securing Mogadishu During Ramadan

Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre of Somalia convened a high-level meeting with the country’s top security officials on Sunday to discuss and strategize on enhancing safety measures in the capital city, Mogadishu, during the holy month of Ramadan.

According to a statement from the Prime Minister’s office, the meeting focused on identifying and addressing potential terrorist threats, with an emphasis on maintaining peace and security throughout the sacred month.

Ramadan is a critical period for heightened security due to increased public gatherings for prayers and communal activities, making it a potential target for terrorist activities.

The government’s proactive approach, as expressed by Prime Minister Barre, seeks to ensure the safety of citizens and visitors during this important time of prayer, fasting, and giving of alms.
