Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre led Somalia in commemorating the International Day of Persons with Disabilities at an event held in Mogadishu on Tuesday.
The event focused on this year’s theme, “Amplifying the Leadership of Persons with Disabilities for an Inclusive and Sustainable Future”, highlighting the essential contributions of persons with disabilities toward building a fairer and more inclusive society.
During his remarks, the Prime Minister underscored the government’s commitment to ensuring equal opportunities, accessibility, and empowerment for individuals with disabilities.
He called for collective efforts to break down barriers and create an environment where everyone can thrive regardless of physical or mental abilities.
The occasion brought together government officials, disability advocates, and civil society organizations to discuss strategies for fostering inclusivity and sustainability through the leadership and active participation of persons with disabilities.
